Re:  Elaine Neilsen, CBO Announcement of Retirement


It is with mixed feelings that I announce that our Chief Business Officer (CBO) Elaine Neilsen plans to retire at the end of June this year.

As many of you know, Elaine came to us at a critical time in our District's history.  Our financial situation was, at times, in a very serious juncture. Elaine has had many years of Business Official experience, which included positions in Newark USD, Jefferson Elementary School District, Dublin USD and at the San Joaquin County Office of Education.  She was tasked with drawing on all those years of experience to help guide us into fiscal solvency.

In the past two years, she has assisted the Board from moving on from two consecutive "Negative Certifications" of our District budget to its current state which is an "approved budget" with a likely "Qualified Certification" of our budget for this year.
