Reopening of School signOn Monday, October 12th, CUSD celebrated the reopening of its elementary schools and the middle school. Sites reopened in the 50%-Blended Program Model (50% of the students on campus two days a week each, with the other three days being Distance Learning) and by all accounts the transitions back were very successful. Staff and students worked together to connect, engage, learn and follow the health/safety protocols that are in place for all on campus. CUSD knows there are issues to address and challenges ahead as they navigate the path ahead in this new COVID-19 impacted reality. However, the staff and students demonstrated tremendous resiliency, patience and positivity in working together to make the most of their return to on-campus learning. CUSD looks forward to reopening Calaveras High School on November 16th and, ideally, to being able to come back in January, 2021 with all students and staff returning to the standard schedule. That will be up to the conditions with COVID-19 and direction from state and local public health officials. Working together, we will make this work, no matter the conditions.
